Andrew Myers Art is conceptually unique: he creates stunning sculpture-portraits using thousands of screws. Next he inserts and meticulously paints each individual screw so that in the end, the sculpture achieves the look and feel of a painted portrait. Myers, an LCAD graduate, says that one of his favorite memories was watching a blind man experience his work for the first time. As the man ran his hands over a three-dimensional portrait constructed with tens of thousands of screws, his blank expression transformed into a warm smile. He could feel what others could only see.
